Inspiration

This blog is inspired by levels.io, Pieter Levels' blog.

Pieter put a lot of his thoughts out there on the Internet. In creating his products, he had his own individual voice as well.

He wasn't just the founder of NomadList. He was Pieter, a creator, and he kept on creating. As you can read on his blog, he didn't stop. He started one after another. He engaged with others as Pieter. A creator and entrepreneur sharing his statistics, his projects and his life.

Ironically, he has mostly stopped posting on his blog and moved on to Twitter. But I will be here for a while yet.

I'm still experimenting with posting publicly. Social media has been around for awhile, but I have just been a lurker. It's much easier to just absorb information and judge than to be an influencer. But I think every one of us has to try. Like it or not, the whole world is moving online. When you don't have an online presence, you don't exist online. Then it's hard for you to break barriers and engage with others online.  

I'm reminded of my ex-colleague who struck out on her own as a freelance writer. She's doing well, and she consistently posts on Linkedin and sends her own newsletter about the freelancer lifestyle.

Linkedin is too cringe for me, so I'm starting here.
